AKRON, Ohio – October 7, 2015 – The Akron Urban League’s (AUL) Board of Directors recently approved an innovative and aggressive 2015 – 2020 Strategic Plan that repositions and transforms the AUL to better respond to the needs of the community it serves. After an exhaustive strategic planning process, the Board of Directors is committed to strengthening and enhancing the Akron Urban League’s vision, mission and programs through the transformation of AUL operations, fundraising activities and community engagement.
As part of the process, the Board of Directors recognizes and embraces these transformational changes that will place a greater emphasis on innovation in programming and services, efficiency and value in AUL operations and mindful donor and funder engagement. To that end, effective immediately, the Board of Directors has begun the search process for a new President and CEO, replacing former President and CEO, Fred Wright, to lead the Akron Urban League, implement the 2015 – 2020 strategic plan and welcome a transformational vision and culture.
