Akron Urban League’s MEEC to host several small business workshops

AKRON, Ohio – September 24, 2015 – The Akron Urban League’s Minority Entrepreneur Empowerment Center will be hosting several workshops for small-business owners.

On Tuesday, October 15, 2015, Monique Cox-Moore, with Secretary of State, John Husted’s office will be hosting a ‘Registering your Business with the State’ which will guide small business owners through the registering process. It will also be a chance for small business owners to take advantage of Husted’s newly enacted reduced registration fees. There is no cost for the workshop and reservations are required.

On October 27, 2015, AUL will be hosting a ‘Woman Owned Small Business (WSOB) Certification workshop from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. The course will be facilitated by Sonya M. Wagasky, Business Development Specialist at the Small Business Association. The course is free and reservations are required.

Beginning, Saturday, October 31, 2015, the Akron Urban League will host a 4-week ‘Contractors Bidding & Estimating’ workshop. Facilitated by John Zeitgeist, Architect & CEO of the Zeitgeist Group, this workshop will examine profit formulas and strategies for small businesses to increase their revenue.
