Transitions Program

Transitions Program

Overview

This program assists individuals with misdemeanor or felony convictions in finding and maintaining stable employment. The program includes an extensive screening process (criminal background checks and drug screening) before ex-offenders are admitted for participation in our job readiness training course. Case Managers assist clients in overcoming barriers to employment, while Employment Specialists work with a host of employers and organizations to identify potential job opportunities.

Added Benefits

For those individuals currently on parole, the Akron Urban League and the Adult Parole Authority have partnered to waive monthly supervision fees for Transitions Program participants who successfully complete the Transitions Program job readiness training. Monthly supervision fees will also be waived for those participants who regularly meet with Transitions Program staff members.
