About the Urban League's Sustainability Campaign:
Under the direction of President & CEO, Dr. Sadie M. Winlock, the Akron Urban League has made a strategic initiative to reduce the agency’s capital liabilities, secure its long term sustainability and build upon its educational programming.
In 2018, the Urban League will embark on a 3 year, $3.3 million dollar sustainability campaign to meet those goals. The Urban League’s sustainability campaign will kick off on August 17, 2018 with a fundraising concert featuring Shelia E. at the Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park where 100% of ticket sales will benefit the Akron Urban League. The following day, the Urban League will host its 93rd Annual Gala with musical entertainment by Eddie Levert and the Eddie Levert Review. On Saturday, August 19, 2018, the Urban League, in partnership with The House of the Lord Church, will present a Gospel Concert Series featuring local and national acts, including Geoffrey D. Golden, Half Mile Home and Cathy Johnson.
