Summer STEAM program launches at Akron Urban League

Yesterday, we kicked off our Pilot STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) program for 25 youth between the ages of 5-12. Throughout the 8-week program, students will develop their skills in the STEM fields using a NASA approved curriculum. At the end of the summer, the participants will have the chance to showcase their final project to community leaders employed in the STEM industries!

Our summer STEAM program will be the foundation for the return and direction of our after-school STEAM program that will start in the fall of 2017. Working with Summit Education Initiative, we will track and measure our results this summer and if we can show measurable improvement in our children’s abilities in math, vocabulary and science, we will open registration for your kids to become part of the Urban STEAM Team! Look for more information to follow.
