Our highly reputable and proven employment center offers career counseling, employment training, effective resume writing instruction, employment leads and referrals, interview skill tips and employer visits.

Transitions Program

This program assists ex-offenders re-enter the community after incarceration. Employment and Life Skills instruction are combined with case management and the resources of Akron Urban League’s Workforce Development Department.

Career Clothing Bank

The Akron Urban League encourages and empowers adultsto “dress for success!”   The AUL Career Clothing Bank provides office appropriate clothing and accessories (up to 6 articles of clothing, including one suit) for job interviews and new or current careers.  Clothing items have been donated to the Akron Urban League and are FREE OF CHARGE.

Career Clothing Bank Hours:

1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.    2nd & 4th  Thursday of each month 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information call 330-434-3101. 

 In order to use the clothing bank you must:

1.  be seeking a job or employed  2.  show photo ID  3.  wait 3 months before utilizing this service again  4.  complete an Akron Urban League application and survey.
