Carla serves as the Minority Business Assistance Center Coordinator & Outreach Specialist. She is an authorized trainer for the OSHA 10-hour & 30-hour construction certifications and has successfully completed the Kent State University/Turner School of Construction Series. Carla has over 30 years of experience as a journeyman laborer in The Laborer’s International Union of North America and is credited as the 1st black female steward in the tri-county district.
Carla is fully engaged in community involvement and public speaking. She leads efforts to contact facilitators, entrepreneurs, participants and partners for seminars, workshops, training, conferences and networking events. She continues to work on programs that will Increase the number of certified firms and entrepreneurs working in our district.
