Christina Ball

STEAM Educator

Christina Ball is a resident from West Akron. Christina, 34 grew up in the Buchtel Cluster where she attended Schumacher, Perkins, & Buchtel. She graduated High school in 2003 and was recruited to play basketball for La Roche College, now known as La Roche University in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.  

She majored in Communications, Media, & Technology. She also has a minor in profession writing. While in college Christina served on as the Multi-Cultural representative for the student Government Association. This position also made her president of MOSAIC, the college’s Multi-Cultural Organization.  Christina graduated from La Roche in 2008 and she moved back home to Akron, Ohio. After working in the customer service field for several years, Christina became employed with Akron Public Schools in 2012. She worked as a Basketball coach, educational assistant, and a substitute teacher.  She also subbed briefly for the Cuyahoga Falls School district in 2019.

May 6, 2019 Christina was employed through the Akron Urban League where she is the S.T.E.A.M Educator. Christina teaches Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math to 3rd grade students.  With the use of Zspace she is able to use advanced 3D technology to give students lessons in virtual reality. Christina has a personal goal to have ALL of her students functioning at their correct grade level or higher.
