Garrick Black II
Garrick Black is a native of Akron, OH who believes all great marketing goes beyond metrics and data. The true marketing is within the stories we tell.
In 2011 Garrick moved back home to Akron, and joined YEPAW (Youth Excellence Performing Arts Workshop) as the Director of Marketing and Communications. During his time there, Garrick was able to help strategize and rebrand the organization and help YEPAW become a common name around the community.
In 2016 Garrick officially launched his first business, Noir Creative, LLC. A digital creative agency in the Akron Area. Noir focuses on marketing and digital content creation for small non-profits all the way up to fortune 500 companies using his skills in photography, videography, marketing, graphic and web design.
In 2018 Garrick joined the Akron Urban League Staff as the director of communications where his main duty is to manage and implement the external marketing and communications activities in an effort to raise awareness of the Akron Urban League programs and services.
Garrick is a member of Akron Torchbearers, Akron Urban League Young Professionals and AAF Akron. Garrick was also a member of the Spring 2014 Leadership Akron Community Leadership Institute, volunteers with Halloween Charity Ball, Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Fashion Teens of Akron, The Akron Marathon, APS 6th Grade Boys Basketball Empowerment League, Lifegate Ministries, and many more organizations.
