Our Team

Hope Mills is an Employment Relationship Specialist at the Akron Urban League. Born and raised in Kentucky, she relocated to Akron, Ohio in 2018. After moving to the area, she knew she wanted to be affiliated with a non-profit organization that aligned with her drive and dedication to inspire and aid an underrepresented population.

She began her career with the Akron Urban League in February 2020 as the Ignite Program Coordinator. In this role, she developed individuals in the area of career-focused workforce development and employment opportunities. Hope now holds the role of the Employment Relationship Specialist. In this role, she develops employer relationships within the community to help connect job seekers to livable wage employment opportunities. Hope also coordinates workforce development certification and training programs that provide job seekers an opportunity to gain new education and skills. Hope has a true passion for workforce development and continues to work one-on=one with individuals in the area of professional and career development.

Hope holds a bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communication from Morehead State University. She has over 5 years of program coordinating experience, 2 years of experience in workforce and career development, as well as 3 years of experience in international student mentoring.

When Hope is not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and cooking.
