Teresa R. LeGrair

President & CEO


Teresa R. LeGrair is the President & CEO of the Akron Urban League.  She previously served as Director, Community Investment of the Akron Community Foundation, President & CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Western Reserve, Vice President of Programs and Member Services for the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, and Executive Director of Human Resources for the National Inventors Hall of Fame.  Before working for the past 25 years in the non-profit arena, she spent 16 years with Aetna Health Plans in various progressive roles of responsibility. Teresa holds her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Malone University and is a graduate of Leadership Akron, Class XXIV.

Her extensive current and prior board and volunteer involvement include the appointment by the Mayor of Akron to serve as a Commissioner on the Akron City Planning Commission, an appointment by the late County Executive Russ Pry to serve on the ConxusNEO Board of Directors, member of the Summa Cancer Institute Leadership Advisory Council and the Healing Arts Leadership Advisory Council, board officer for ATHENA Akron, Akron Art Museum Board of Directors, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

She is a recipient of the Akron Black Women’s Leadership Caucus Award and the Akron Urban League’s 2015 Woman of Power Award. She was also named a 2017 Finalist for the ATHENA International Award.  She is the proud mother of three adult sons and one granddaughter.
