The Akron Minority Business Assistance Center (MBAC) mission is to identify small disadvantaged, minority-owned and women-owned businesses in the State of Ohio to cultivate their growth and sustainability. The goal of MBAC is to connect business owners and emerging entrepreneurs to the resources, and opportunities, to help them achieve, scale and market successfully.

The Minority Contractor Capital Access Program (MCCAP) is a collaboration between the Western Reserve Community Fund and the Akron Urban League that provides financial and technical assistance to Akron and Summit County-based minority, women, LGBTQ+, Veteran and Disabled-owned businesses in the construction trades.

We offer training, technical assistance, professional consulting, access to capital, and assistance obtaining contract opportunities to help business owners and empower emerging entrepreneurs.

The overall focus of the Center is to provide entrepreneurs with the guidance needed to cultivate business sustainability in the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. The kind of support the Akron Urban League is providing is life-changing for the Greater Akron area community.
