MBAC would like to celebrate Melissa Herder, owner of 4-Gal’s Hauling LLC, for obtaining the State of Ohio EDGE and WBE Certifications.

4 Gal’s Hauling is a woman-owned trucking firm. They haul asphalt, millings, aggregate, dirt, and more to surrounding areas and play a significant role in repairing infrastructure in our community. 4- Gal’s Hauling is a disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) company looking to become EDGE certified. MBAC assisted them in obtaining a fast-tracked EDGE certification for a pending contract requiring them to be certified first. Through the fast-tracked certification process, 4 Gal’s was awarded the certification within a week and secured the contract. MBAC also assisted the owner with obtaining their WBE certification.

4 Gal’s started with one truck in 2017 and now owns five trucks with three certifications, DBE, EDGE, and WBE. Melissa, the owner, said that many told her that she would never succeed in being a woman and running a trucking business. Despite the challenges in a male-dominated industry, Melissa has thrived and moved past obstacles to run her business for seven years successfully. By 2023 she plans to expand from 5 to 7 trucks.

Melissa Herder said, “Once the bid was secure through the prime contractor, MBAC helped 4 Gal’s Hauling organize and submit the application for the EDGE fast track program. It wasn’t easy! They answered all my questions promptly; without them, I don’t think I could have achieved it on my own, or at least not as quickly and efficiently. I am extremely grateful for the MBAC. Now my business has grown even more.”

Congratulations to 4 Gal’s Hauling LLC for obtaining EDGE and WBE certifications from the MBAC team!
