Our Team

Brandon Waithe is the Director of Education and Learning at the Akron Urban League. His family moved to Akron when he was young, settling in the Goodyear Heights area. In 2001, Brandon joined the USAF at the age of 17. Even while in the military, Brandon sought ways to give back to whatever community he found himself in, always with an eye to come back home. Throughout his Air Force career, he held various positions of leadership in training development. Returning to Akron in 2022, he worked in various training development corporate leadership positions while looking for opportunities to serve the people of Greater Akron, ultimately accepting his current role at Akron Urban League. As the Director of Education and Learning, Brandon promotes and implements an exemplary, culturally competent, inclusive, and safe learning environment for the students and adults of Greater Akron. Brandon has been active in the Citizens for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee in Green and is a current member of Leadership Akron’s Diversity on Board Class 8.He has B.S. in Management and Technology, Instructional Design Focus from Bowling Green State University.  An avid soccer fan, he enjoys learning languages, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and spending time with his family.
