Brenda D. Stevens

MBAC Regional Director


Brenda and her Husband Leonard were owners of City Flooring and Design Center for 25 years, located in the City of Canton.  In recent years, both Leonard and Brenda transitioned from business owners to business administrators and work persistently  to advise businesses throughout the Northeast Ohio area on how to scale and grow their business.

Brenda Stevens served Malone University for 25 years as Director of Multicultural Services and as the Chief Diversity Officer.  During her time at Malone, she led students on Service-Learning trips to Kenya, Botswana, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mainland China, and Hong Kong.  As a Certified Diversity Executive, she has extended credentials as a DEI consulting professional.

Stevens began her career in education at the University of Buffalo, where she expanded the Buffalo Area Engineering Awareness (BEAM) program throughout the Buffalo NY area serving underserved students in the city of Buffalo and American Indian students throughout Erie and Niagara Counties. After returning to Ohio, she worked for the Education Enhancement Partnership (TEEP), now known as The Stark Education Partnership.

Brenda has volunteered significantly throughout the Stark County community as a board member for numerous organizations including, Leadership Stark County, The American Heart Association, Pathways Caring for Children, Heritage Christian School, Board of Education. She also served on the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival’s Queen’s Pageant for more than 10 years, becoming the Chair of the Committee in 2015 and 2016.  She currently serves United Way as Chair of the committee to expand funding to Black-Led Non-Profits in Stark County.

Stevens is a member of Greater Bethel Apostolic Church and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She is married to Leonard D. Stevens, CEO of the Stark County Minority Business Association. They have two adult children, and two grandchildren.
