DeWayne Richardson, a native of Akron, fell in love with non-profit organizations when he was only a teenager. Inspired at a summer camp led by the Akron Urban League, he developed a deep passion for the inner-city youth and underrepresented population of the Akron area, which sparked his desire to take action and become an integral part of the Akron Urban League staff.
DeWayne began his career at AUL in 2011 as a CYC Computer Instructor for the One Community Program. Returning to AUL after a brief time, his resolve led him back to the organization, serving in his current dual role of Financial Literacy Instructor and Employment Specialist for the CCMEP (BOSS) Program.
DeWayne holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Walsh University and he is an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. When DeWayne is not working, he spends his time coaching youth basketball.
